animal census

In October 2007 the students of Carcoar Primary School conducted an Animal Census. 120 forms were sent out to locals. 50 people replied.

Overall we found 5128 animals in Carcoar - including 384 people.

The most popular animals were sheep (2120), followed by cows (1513), pet birds (306) and fish (231).

There were also 29 cats, 52 dogs, 179 kangaroos, 138 possums, 5 horses, 107 chooks, 30 geese, 3 yabbies, 2 goats, 16 alpacas, 2 rabbits (1 deceased), 1 guinea fowl, 1 guinea pig, 7 ducks, 1 camel, 1 mouse, an echidna and a wombat.
