carcoar hospital museum

Stoke Stable

The original Carcoar Hospital building in Eulamore Street is one of the earliest colonial hospital buildings in Australia and is a unique and important part of Carcoar's history. Built to the design of renowned Colonial Architect Edward Gell, it was completed and occupied in 1861.

The Carcoar Hospital Museum and Restoration Committee is developing a Museum dedicated to mediical and hospital services, with the building as the main exhibit, in readiness for the 150th anniversary celebrations in 2011.

The Committee is keen to hear from anyone with memorabilia, photos, stories etc which will help record the history of the hospital.
